It is a quite terrible movie. I watched it on the plane home from Boston recently. But that line did stand out. 🤣

It was the entire French-British relationship summed up in one line. Brilliant!

It's weird how this movie suddenly becomes a comedy for like this one scene

I feel like there are more than a few scenes that play as comedy but I don’t remember specifics. The boats line stuck with me though. The whole thing struck me as anti-French in a way that I was ill equipped to appreciate fully while watching a British director through American eyes.

Disagree with you, it is a great movie, but I wish more understood how funny it was- see the line in question
