over the past two weeks:
- one (1) fed has been ousted
- one (1) popular user has unacceptable sexual behavior
- aegis is dead
- numerous blood feuds have started
- numerous friendships have ended
- numerous users have deactivated or left entirely
- postplomacy is dead
this is not sustainable.
I feel like with time it'll heal over and be better for it. The whole structure of this site revolving mainly around a small clique of Big Accounts to the point where their names are used as nouns and adjectives was weird and deeply parasocial and needed to die, just very sad it did how it did.
as a non poster the experience here has been vastly different than twitter. following similar accounts that i did on twitter but instead seeing loads of interactions that felt like i walked into private moments where it was literally impossible for me to find context
maybe its because of unrelated things but this platform does tend to feel like it has an activity and connections threshold where being underneath it ends up making half the site feel like stumbling into peoples dms
