Disconcerting thing about joining the press trips for these is that because of security we have no idea where we’re going beyond which region of the country we’re going to. It’s like the weirdest school trip ever.
At one point today we were at the blue dot with Rishi Sunak while Keir Starmer was in the red circle. A UK general election where the Cotswolds is the Labour/Conservative battleground???
What this does show us is both parties’ internal data is showing the same thing. Sunak was in Stratford-upon-Avon, Conservative majority 19,000. Starmer was in Banbury constituency, Conservative majority 16,000.
