I would like to send out an exasperated cry for help about the millenial obsession with grey.
For context I do admin work for a window blind factory. Somebody sent me an order to process for a nursery and playgroup building.
The entire building consisted of a 36 window order... all in fucking grey. Playrooms, homerooms, canteen, toddler and baby rooms.. grey? Really?
We have SO many fabrics in every colour of the rainbow. We have space themed, dinosaur themed, stars, polka dots, stripes, animals, cartoon characters.
Are we raising children in a colourless hellhole now?
I know full well that there will obviously be other colours in the room in the form of furniture, toys, etc. but it just made me really irrationally frustrated. Rant over I guess
Just in case people think Iโm overreacting like โoh nikki itโs only the blinds, lighten upโ
I wonโt lighten up. Theyโre roller blinds. Look how awful this nursery will be.
Name a color and I can point you towards a group of people that will tell you in detail why that exact color is offensive to them, personally.
I find myself living in a grey house. Ceilings, floors, walls, all different shades of grey.
Damn sure our blinds have colors.
I love them!
In winter, even when the world is bleak, the green ones look like there's a sun-drenched spring meadow outside.
The blue ones are in our bedroom. They look like there's the sea right outside. We hung those upside down, they're supposed to simulate blue sky, but I love the sea.
Plus, they do not have the same print. We have 3 greens next to each other, and they take a continuous print, then cut it into three pieces.
OCD me is beyond happy. No repeated patterns. ๐
If youโre in the USA, a company called Louvolite manufactures them! Your local stockist would advertise them as Perfect Fit Pleated blinds ๐ for searching purposes
