Neoliberalism is a 40+ year project, Industrial Militarism is an 80+ year project, one election won't dismantle any of it. This's just where we are, our American situation, facing possibility of a dictatorship, voting to not die, but also not thrive. Solutions require more from us on every level.
It's not for everyone, but I've found a lot of freedom in giving up trying to put a happy face on electoral politics. Somehow I'm still motivated to go and vote for Les Evil, because I want to reduce harm. It actually feels easier, because I can free up my brain to search for & work on solutions.
It actually feels like a really insidious idea, that politicians are our leaders, that they have a monopoly on change, that a vote for one is somehow a symbol of loyalty & adherence, rather than choosing the person who we can have the barest trust in not to seize power & do us the least harm.
