Huh, this got a lot of reskeets. I got a whole bunch of these things that need a home if anyone’s interested. I might keep a few but I haven’t decided which ones yet

this ad always fascinated me because I swear those Pokémon look like they were hand painted onto those marbles. Now it’s an interesting artifact from the days when Pokémon merch was handled by companies other than Pokémon. Toy Biz doesn’t even exist anymore.

“The coolest new way to collect Pokémon“ is a funny thing to say about such an antiquated game. It’s like if Pokémon existed in the depression era

I loved listening to Radio Disney as a kid and finding out that the kid who won the Pokémon contest didn’t get to go to the Pokémon animation studio because of an apparent miscommunication pissed me off. Did they not have chaperones to handle these things?

I don’t have any resource other than this interview so I can’t say why for sure but it sounds to me like they wee struggling to communicate and didn’t know who to talk to. Maybe they thought they could just walk in and a security guard stopped them

“At first people wouldn’t even admit that the Pokémon animation studio existed“ is a weird thing to say. Were they asking random people on the street where the Pokémon studio was? In which case most people probably either didn’t want to talk to foreigners or just didn’t know.
