Read the latest volume of SHE LOVES TO COOK, AND SHE LOVES TO EAT and this really is one of the best comics currently coming out Hilarious and adorable while still being honest and direct about the realities and challenges of queer life (and different varieties of it), it's something truly special

I can't remember the last time I read a comic like this that included the list of resources the creator used while making it because she is upfront about how while her experiences as a queer Japanese woman color the story, she could never know everything and actively researches what she doesn't

It's also pretty damn fantastic to see a romance manga that--SPOILERS--has the two leads confess their love with each other and enter a relationship FOUR VOLUMES IN and let the story continue and show how their relationship unfolds and evolves and the challenges they face as a couple

Literally the opposite approach to complicated storytelling but have you read HOW DO WE RELATIONSHIP? because that might be my all time favourite comic and the way that handles nuanced relationships is stunning.

I really need to read this one, I've had like 5 different people recommend it

It's beautifully drawn and it is MESSY. it gets the leads together in volume 1 and then explores goes that's messy and difficult and how people can struggle to work together. It's just so human.

The Moon on a Rainy Night does this as well. Though, understandably, it's regarding one of the characters' hearing loss. kodansha.us/series/the-m...
