Capitalism would have been if the Ottomans had said from the start that anyone can buy any land they want, no religious restrictions. This was an instance of colonial oppression that lifted without bloodshed. Though bloodshed resulted because some colonizers hated seeing that civil rights progress.
Jews weren't strangers from afar who landed in the Mideast from Europe and no one knew who they were or what they were about. They were the indigenous second-class citizens who had to pay a special tax for not being Muslim, and who frequently experienced ethnic violence under their colonizers.
Outsiders have no right to say "Well sure the Mizrahi Jews are indigenous, but they're wrong to recognize all other Jews as part of the same people as themselves, they shouldn't do that because I think they look too different."
