It came out at a weird time in my life so I never sat with it, but the Queens of the Stone Age version of Christian Brothers is really astounding. It sounds like something you'd hear in Justified youtu.be/Eo2h57KpTSY?...

For some weird reason I haven't figured out, I wasn't in to Era Vulgaris when it first came out either, but it's been in pretty steady rotation for me for the last year

I love the first half of the album but I never really clicked with the back end. I wish they had included “Fun Machine”

Both era and to a much larger extent lullabies were really weird periods for the band. I don't think josh had fun again until like clockwork, ITNR is a real return to the fun, weird queens

Yeah they’re the two albums that don’t really sound like QOTSA albums. They’re good, but kind of outliers

My most controversial qotsa opinion is that little sister isn't very good

It’s fine but I rarely go out of my way to listen to it. I think the only songs on that album that I truly love are Everybody Knows That You’re Insane and Someone’s In the Wolf

My most controversial: Villains is superior to ITNR. I know the middle drags, but Villains starts and ends with a bang. ITNR just never feels like it gets going. At least “Paper Machete” rips.

Feet Don’t Fail Me and The Evil Has Landed are probably better than anything on ITNR but I think I like ITNR better overall
