To wit: Adam Schiff saying that Biden should take a cognitive test and Chris Murphy saying he should do a national town hall are, I think, not real suggestions; they're Sunday-morning warnings to Biden about what this week is going to look like and how little unqualified support he can count on.
Relevant to the next few days: "Biden has to do more to regain the confidence of voters," when said by an elected official, is a soft "He needs to withdraw," since all those saying it know it's as impossible to reverse concerns about aging or frailty as it is to reverse aging and frailty themselves.
This sounds a lot like projection to me. "The people are implying what I want them to say, rather than meaning the words they actually say." Never known Adam Schiff to candy-coat his message.
