What I would ask is: FOR WHAT?! What are we doing that is so dangerous and harmful? These people want to kill us based on crazy lies they intentionally feed themselves day after day to keep themselves angry.

They want to kill us because they believe we're "murdering" fictional people who haven't even been born. They want to kill us because a few dozen trans kids are getting the treatment they need. They want to kill us because we're "persecuting" the most worthless and corrupt man alive.
There's a ratcheting effect with rightwing paranoia, simply because you need more extreme content to get that same flush of anger. It's like the flavor dust on chips -- you quickly become desensitized and have to eat more and more chips with more and more bizarre flavors.

We exist in the America that they think belongs only to them.
Us brown people keep crossing the border. LGBTQ+ people aren’t in the closet anymore. Women expect equality.
In their minds, this cannot stand. Nature and God put them in charge. And equality for the rest of us is an attack.
I think the biggest failure of the "fact checking" response to this sort of fear mongering was the refusal to then say "therefore you should not trust this deranged person who wants to ruin your life for profit"
