In the midst of a heat wave that will absolutely have acute health repercussions for many people, some requiring an emergency response and now 911 is down across the state. This is horrifying.

oh jeez, that's scary, i hope it comes back online fast

It's really really scary. In Minneapolis a few years back there were weeks where we definitely knew nobody was coming if we called. Lasted much longer in the traditionally underserved neighborhoods. That's such a scary thing that I don't wish on anyone for one minute. Sending brain hugs 🫂

Got that same alert in southern Maine too...

Now I got another alert saying that the first alert was sent by another state accidentally and my state's 911 is fine... So sounds like Mass mighta gone a little too wide with their alert.

I just got an alert saying "ignore previous alert, everything's fine here in Maine." I do not live in Maine.

I live in Massachusetts and I was told to ignore the message because "everything's fine here in Maine".

Same--like I get that the system is still sorta new-ish, but I feel like these are the kind of bugs you really gotta sort out BEFORE implementation.

This is truly awful And the “heat dome” is just beginning 🤦‍♀️ You’re in Boston, right? I lived there for almost 7 years; I cannot even imagine getting that notification And now, we might all see them 😳

People are like "oh it's easy just call your local station" like people with landlines but no Internet exist and may not have the Yellow Pages close by during a medical emergency? Or are we all supposed to know our local police department phone number now?
