This is not "AI answers". It's RAG summarization. It is a summarization model summarizing the top Google search results (which it links right underneath). It's not tasked to / allowed to answer on its own.
Try asking, say, ChatGPT any of the same questions and see how it responds.
The TL/DR is, people are getting outraged over the fact that there's wrong things on the internet and a Google search is showing them.
I don't want to defend Google too much; summarizing the top search results with no weighting/context is an idiotic idea. But it's not "AI answers".
