I am glad he is not going to be locked up in American prison for the espionage charges. He didn't deserve that. I am sad he's not currently in Swedish prison for the rapes he committed. He does deserve that.

Absolutely agree. The worst thing about Twitter is the way everything there is warped so that people are either 100% good or 100% evil, whereas you've summed the Assange situation up perfectly, there.

My thoughts exactly, too many media reports portray him as some kind of hero. It's also highly amusing that after everything he did for the Tangerine Turdsack, the Trump administration were so keen to lock him up for ever. Wonder why?

So strange! Trump is well known for consistent, generous reciprocity toward those who've ever done him a favor.

He is also definitely not a journalist in any meaningful sense, so all of the chatter about press freedom really grates.
