Meanwhile, the movie based on John Smith's self-insert historical fanfic is mostly remembered for that one great song and having the male lead voiced by disgraced former celebrity Mel Gibson.
Yeah, I don't think Disney making a Pocahontas film was a good idea in retrospect despite having good intentions making it with an ending that didn't have her being kidnapped and her name stolen.
I feel that Disney could fix that by making a film with Native American filmmakers behind it.
