Sometimes I like to press my ear to my cat’s side and hear his heartbeat and think about how amazing it is that he’s alive and I’m alive and we are alive together at the same time

I’m constantly amazed that a small creature I can’t talk to has mutually agreed to live in a house with me!

I am always awed that these little desert hunters who are genetically identical to their African wildcat cousins have decided to come inside and sit on our laps and curl up beside us at night. We are truly all children of mother earth

I feel the same when I put my hand on her when she’s on the bed with me and I can feel her tiny engine running

I wish he is the longest living cat and you both go to gods gate at the same time ❤

Definitely times I've snuggled with the cat and blankly exclaimed "you're alive!"

This is exactly why I’m content staying home. Alone. Binge-watching whatever. Cats are love

and then that little catch on the outbreath, and the next one the carburator turns over and the purr is rumbling through ones skull

I have in fact stared at my cat and just gone “you are an independently thinking thing that lives in my house and may or may not know what is happening.”
