well, the NYT sent me a survey. notes:
Lots of questions about what would get me to pay $1/week
"No, I have a free sub."
Anyway, it did ask me why opinion columnists were something I would not pay for and I said with one major exception they were repetitive. And AG Sulzberger was overwhelmed.
I am incredibly thankful for my university giving me access to the NYT and WSJ. I'd buy single issues of either, but I would never pay money for subscriptions to either.
I do pay the small amount of money to add on NYT games, though.
