Just seen an ad for a d20 that "gives you control over where it lands" to "enhance your tabletop RPG experience". A loaded die. To "enhance your tabletop RPG experience." Yeesh.
As a DM I had a 3D printed D20 with 19 ones and a twenty on it, and was weighted away from the 20 (something like 1/40). I gave it to players when they asked to do something stupid.
As a DM humoring a player on a check that really really ought to just fail it makes sense, but that's a weird edge case for a dice you sell as a product imo.
1st year D&D players min-maxing their builds, vs 20 year D&D players secretly hoping their character gets into a really F’ed up situation they can Roleplay themselves out of.
I was hoping this was somehow a dice that would always land on the table and not result in looking on the rather sticky pub floor for 5 mins, in which case it would be "take my money".
