A general point about Netanyahu’s current political (mis)fortunes: he’s at a point where any decision, no matter how good or bad for others, is costly for him. His entire strategy is predicated on skirting actual decisions so any pressure that forces him to decide hastens his political demise.
I don’t think so. Being seen as failing to decisively win two wars isn’t better than been seen as failing to decisively win one. Especially given the damage Israel will incurred I case of Lebanon war.
That might be the case, but it would definitely delay, delay, delay. And the more damage incurred in Israel, the more rally-around-the-flag effect might occur, and the greater pressure on the USA to intervene to bail the government out
