Just an fyi... I will not respond to "hi" or "hello" or "can I ask a question"
DM etiquette requirements are the same. State your business or do not interact XD
Please understand this
With DMs/PMs coming, I beg you all to learn the Inigo Montoya method of first contact.
1. Introduce self
2. Establish commonality
3. Establish expectations
All chat software should just swallow the hi message and auto-respond with hi. That way the first message you get is the one that actually says something meaningful.
Not necessarily bot behavior. In my experience they are usually always followed by "do you do requests?" and it still keeps happening. These are folks I do not want to humor talking to because they have nothing beneficial to say or ask.
100% agreed on that one.
I'm (unfortunately) still on DA (have some RL friends that only post there) and lately, the "Can I use your art as a muse for a mural?" BS messages have been replaced with "Hi" or "Hello" ones.
I've pretty much just marked them as spam and moved on.
It's how I used to start conversations when I was young and anxious, so I usually correlate it to being either young, anxious, OR a bot from discord asking me to commission them.
