Beginning to question the wisdom of choosing Christmas Eve to try out a new recipe that begins with, “this is a beast of a dish.”
Julia Child's recipe for cassoulet includes a section The Order of Battle. Not an exaggeration either.
OMG. I have not yet ventured into Julia territory
She is simultaneously warm and terrifying. Generally her recipes work out well. I like that she assumes that I too can produce simple or elaborate French food (she may be wrong, but she believes in me.)
