another rewatch this morning

Got my coffee + it’s time for a rewatch ☕️

I get to finally see Longlegs in two days. Trying to temper my expectations (based on some of the discourse I’ve seen today) — but I haven’t been this hyped for a horror film in ages. My only hope is it at least partly matches the level of the marketing 🤞🏻

I’ve been hyped for this since the trailer, and now, it’s time…

One more 2024 horror release until I hit 100 for the year so far. What’s something GOOD I should watch?!?

MaXXXine shines w/ ‘80s razzle-dazzle but feels hollow. Mia Goth is excellent, of course + there’s plenty to love visually. But it’s disjointed and scattered. I liked it but I wanted to love it. X and Pearl are clearly way stronger conceptually and story wise. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5

All I’m asking for is a good time 🤞🏻

For some strange reason, MaXXXine isn’t playing here so hitting the road with my sometimes movie buddy to another town like an hour away 🤪
