I really want to like CSP, but every time I try using it. It just feels…. Off. It’s hard to explain. It’s amazing for line work and sketching. But as soon as it gets to painting, I end up wanting to go back to PS.
My single largest annoyance moving from SAI to almost any art program is that they rarely do the select tool as well. SAI has sandbagging, so you don't have to search for every last hole in your linework. Without it, it takes twice as long to just start coloring.
I know what you mean, I can’t get used to it even with inking or sketching. Have you tried Procreate for painting? I’m not typically a painter for my art style but have been trying it out and really like it!
I'm literally the opposite, I tried Photoshop a few times and kept going back to CSP lol! It just takes a little persistence, I guess. Krita might be worth a shot too (it's free!) and I also like Sketchbook Pro and Procreate
it has been ages since i have gone over to CSP but i also used to use Ps and other software - alot of this is mostly the brushes and sensitivity you are used to, i recommend playing around with the pressure levels and importing brushes you used in Ps!
