Seems like people who are able to keep in touch with their families might stand a better chance of staying out jail/prison

And especially it gives the ones in jail (pre-trial) a better chance at staying out of prison.

Thank fucking god, (I say that euphemistically.) What an unconscionable financial scam this policy is. Glad to see MA, at least, is addresing it. Now go national!

After seeing how much my parenrs had to pay to stay in contact eith my brother in prison, this is a huge relief for so many people. I hope it keeps spreading to other states. Communication with family should be a right not a priviledge
