Because of the stupid way that Belgian welfare is set up, you barely get anything in December. My check for the month is less than 300 EUR.

Update on depression posting: people are posting about careers and degrees and it's just making me thing about how I'm broke, unemployed, getting no interviews and my expensive degree is now obsolete.

I'm trying to change careers to be more available for my son and it feels hopeless but there's no turning back now.

Well I got a job and it pays roughly 3 times what I was getting from welfare. So that's a huge weight off my chest. Also, fuck the Belgian welfare system for being structurally designed to fuck you over if you took paternity leave.
