“Currently about 2/3rds of all Dutch children walk or bike to school, with 75% of secondary school kids cycling to school. By enabling safe and active travel, #Dutch cities prevent an estimated one million car journeys to school each morning.” — @modacitylife.bsky.social in #CurbingTraffic

I imagine most of the remaining Dutch kids from these stats walk to school. Very few would be driven: my daughter’s elementary school here in Amsterdam literally has no place to even park a car.
Wot? No concern trolls hyperventilating about a conspicuous lack of helmets? What is social media coming to?

I always thought mandatory helmets were silly. So you end up in an accident where half your body is road rash at minimum, or at worst, paste. Why do I want my brain intact so that I can feel that agony?

In the U.S. this would trigger Fox News stories about "biker gangs" threatening your town.
