@notalawyer.bsky.social just listened to the Cargill episode, loved it. Wanted to add that there's a reason the language of the statue doesn't say "pull of the trigger." Some machine guns of that era don't have triggers that are pulled, they're buttons that are pressed. "Function" captures both.
