You can now search your archives! This has been one of the most popular feature requests for the archive / web interface, and we're thrilled to finally deliver it. You can search by subject, body, or even metadata of the email. We'll show you — and your subscribers — the most relevant results.

It is still early days (Q4 launch!), but: we're getting _international_, y'all. If your newsletter primarily targets non-English readers, I'd love to hear from you on the GitHub issue: github.com/buttondown/r...

Even though emojis are apparently cheugy and only used unironically by millenials and olds, we're excited to announce that you can now use an emoji picker in the editor! 🎉 Read about it here: buttondown.email/changelog/20...

It is as good a time as any to share that we've open-sourced `tiptap-math`, our LaTeX extension for tiptap. We hope the exactly five of you in the intersection of "knows what ProseMirror is" and "knows what LaTeX is" find it useful! github.com/buttondown/t...

We're launching what we call (in lieu of a less robotic-sounding name, suggestions welcome): SUBSCRIBER AUTONOMY. This is a fancy name for: "you can let subscribers change their own tags/metadata if so you wish." Read more about it here: docs.buttondown.email/subscriber-a...

You (well, a few of you, the really nerdy ones) asked — we listened. Buttondown now supports LaTeX.We even had to add a microservice for it. (That's how much we care.)

NEW: footnotes, for Fancy Mode! We've supported footnotes for a while, but only in Markdown mode — now, wherever you're writing, you can do so with as many asides as you wish. Go forth and digress all you want; litter your writing with enough marginalia to blot out the sun.

We've upgraded our inbound email handling. You can now send emails — complete with images! — to `[email protected]`, and we'll send them out for you, automatically re-uploading and optimizing the images so you can write on the go. How's that for convenience?
