Registering was fine for me, but the ballot papers arrived two days before polls close. No chance of that ever counting. I am livid.

You could have arranged an emergency proxy vote until 5pm today! ☹️

A late postal ballot is *not* on the list of eligible reasons for an emergency proxy vote.

So they wouldn’t accept it if your ballot arrived late? If that’s the case then the rules need changing. Someone living on the other side of the world shouldn’t be disenfranchised for it.

Nope, it’s not a valid vote if it doesn’t get to the returning officer by 10pm today. Stories are they posted the ballots out late June. Yes, the rules need changing.

Managed to register but the envelope arrived quite late. More time is needed for postal votes abroad.
