Have you read any of these books by Nicola Edwards (illustrated by Natalie Marshall). Super fun board books with cut outs that are seasonal. When reading aloud to your toddler guaranteed to make most moms who are stressed about bed time weepy and hug your littles tight.
This time of year the book which is now titled Duck for Turkey Day by Jacqueline Jules is one of my favorite read alouds. It summarizes much of how I felt as a kid not celebrating the way I was taught at school. There was no Turkey! My south East Asian family are vegetarians! So yes, this one.
Yesterday @ staff meeting admin reminded staff about Christmas vs winter. December celebrations should be winter not Christmas. My inner child felt a bit more healed. This has been my soapbox for YEARS. A tree, Santa, reindeer, elves, all excude Xmas in December. Stop it! #noxmasatschool
I was having a bit of the Sunday dread but then I remembered tomorrow morning I get to just go look at books, and tomorrow afternoon we’re talking about our summer reading book (I picked stamped from the beginning). I might just be back to my rebel rousing attitude tomorrow. #goodtrouble
