S1 review of Halt and Catch Fire: It's good but not great. Theres a few moments where its clearly Trying Hard To Be A Prestige Cable Drama and hitting beats that are just a bit writerly. Characters say and do things because of the type of show its trying to be, not bc of the characters motivations
