American infrastructure suffers from the triple problems of being maintained by the states individually (who then further delegate it to individual cities), being absolutely enormous, and of course our good friend Capitalism and the various forms of corruption and grift that come with it.

Perhaps if the bridge hadn't been dressed that way, this wouldn't have happened.
