It's a two-box day at SCOTUS, so we will be getting a maximum of four decisions.

Gorsuch has the first two opinions. First is Ohio v. EPA, the Good Neighbor rule is stayed. The decision is 5-4, with Barrett writing the dissent for herself and the three liberals. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23p...

Second is Purdue Pharma bankruptcy case. Another 5-4 decision, Gorsuch writes for the majority reversing the 2nd Circuit. Purdue loses. Kavanaugh dissents, with Roberts, Sotomayor and Kagan. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23p...

Third and not last, Roberts has the 6-3 decision in SEC v. Jarkesy, affirming the Fifth Circuit on the Seventh Amendment jury trial issue. The court does not reach the other issues. Sotomayor has the liberals' dissent. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23p...

Sotomayor is reading from her dissent in Jarkesy.

Breaking: The Supreme Court dismisses the EMTALA challenge as improvidently granted and vacates the stays, allowing EMTALA's enforcement, for now, where it conflicts with Idaho's abortion ban. Jackson is reading from her opinion. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23p...

Busy week for you, Chris. Thanks for hanging in there.

The POTUS immunity decision is gonna be last. Wish it had been today. Would have blown up tonight’s debate, one way or the other.

Gotta delay the decision as long as possible

oh god how did i forget that's tonight

The worst is yet to come. These 6 former Republican operatives are genuine malignant narcissists.

can you describe how we know Friday isn't the last day? Was there some indication of this?

The SC website says: “The Court may announce opinions on Friday, June 28, and Monday, July 1. Opinions will be posted on the homepage after announcement from the Bench.”

Yeah it's up now, I was just wondering how Chris had that info early, I'm doing some court-watching for work reasons

Something else I read said that the Chief Justice usually announces on the penultimate opinion day that the next opinion day will be the final one. Roberts didn’t do that today, so maybe that was what Chris was going off of.

It's not just immunity, is it? They seem to be slow walking all the bombshell cases. Maybe they're waiting for a better picture of what will happen in November?

Well when's the fucking last day then, jesus christ

So, it is the same as the one they pulled back yesterday. They sat on this for months, only to vacate the stay. This is just punting the actual decision until the next case, next term, post-election. They needed 5 months to do this. 5 months of real harm, just to play politics.
