Just learned that my undergrad institution is “reorganizing” its student services to eliminate not just the Black Student Center, but also the Women’s Center and LGBTQ Resource Center to comply w/ a recently passed Republican DEI ban.
So awful.
Even if "services" in some of these places are less than ideal, being able to stumble upon your people (it can be even just seeing who is reading the same bulletin board) makes all the difference.
