Weightless restored access to UK customers; I noticed when I checked last week. A small step forward I guess. (EU, alas, still zippo.)

Yes, that's because the UK isn't charging VAT on ebooks. The rest of the EU still is.

Oh, thanks, completely missed that the UK scrapped VAT for ebooks in the meantime…already in May 2020, I see. Then there’s scant hope Weightless will ever be available in the EU again. (On your subscription page, it still says Weightless isn’t available in the UK.)

I'm so sorry. I have a lot of worries about where this is going to leave short fiction.

It's been sitting on a cliff for a while. Some markets may fall over because of this recent shove, but short fiction will continue in some form. What that looks like, however, will depend on how everyone responds to the wake up calls. Personally, I plan to go kicking and screaming until the end.
