Incredible how timeless and universal it's message is. Even today I still hate Charlie Brown!

He can be a little much.

My elementary school library inexplicably had the first collections of Peanuts, the Octavos ones. The ones that are all $5,000+ now. I guarantee they got sold for a quarter to clear out old inventory.

Nobody can write peanuts characters correctly anymore because they make them too twee and sentimental. They lack the correct amount of bitterness and cynicism that made the strip interesting.

“Peanuts” was a name foisted on Charles M. Schulz by the publisher. It really should have been called “I Hate Charlie Brown”.
