The very worst thing about social media, including this site and the Bad Site and every other site, is the illusion that by posting on it you’re accomplishing anything.
if this is your big takeaway for why social media is bad then you are using social media all wrong. i’ve been educated with social media and i’ve educated other with social media.
hell, half my generation knows about the genocide in Palestine because of informative content on tiktok and twitter.
so when i hear people say:
“social media does nothing”
what i’m really hearing from them is:
“i dont like seeing people finding important information about certain topics that are never fairly discusses in schools or mainstream media.”
because that one of the main goods coming from social media
