Sometimes I'll be looking for a thing on the kitchen counter, like the pepper grinder. I know the grinder is there. But my pattern recognition is not responding. Essentially blind to the pepper grinder. I'll call my wife, "Where is the pepper grinder?" and she'll pick it up from the counter.
