It does, but not in the same way that the... er... previous site... did. Notice how the real @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com ends with "neilgaiman.com" while the imposters ends with "bsky.social" or something similar. The verification process reflects off a record tied to the domain...

Also if Neil is all up in your DMs and mentions, it's not him.
