The overall trend is warming. Eastern Australia is subject to El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) activity. Some years we get El Niño and the summers are hot and dry and other years we get El Niña and the summers are cool with higher rainfall.

Makes some sense, a lot of the world is subject to El Niño effects.

40 is definitely toasty, 51 is too much. 🥵 Here, Death Valley is 49 until Wednesday when it plummets to 48 for a few days. At least it cools to 32 over night 😁

Man, 32 at night is tough. I believe air-conditioning doesn't cope when it's in the 50s outside.
