Bummer. Is it like the old "unibody" thing where it's just the body welded to the frame?

No. Unibody means the body does a lot of the stiffening. The body and frame are a single unit, and there really isn’t a continuous frame running from bumper to bumper. With this, the body does very little stiffening. The roof does some, I guess. The frame is bumper to bumper, like a pickup.

The body is bolted to the frame. And it could be driven without any body parts at all.

Okay, so it is true body-on-frame. Some old Fords are kind of a weird hybrid. So hypothetically you could do a frame swap.
