Went for a walk and ran across this friend. Either a) a Five-lined Skink or b) a Broad-headed Skink or c) Southeastern Five-lined Skink

Most of the stream was bone dry, but amazingly this small trickle falls was still flowing

oh, that's lovely!

That is begging for exploration!

It’s part of a historical site so, sadly, no exploration is allowed. The spring is about all that’s left of an old fulling mill. I would love to climb in that hole and find it led to some fantastic caves.

This snowberry clearwing moth (Hemaris diffinis) hid among the bumblebees on the monarda and did its best to avoid being photo’d.

Its a BIG skink!! ha ha Awesome.

Yeah, it was hard not to notice it as hard as it tried.
