Vancouver Coastal Health has released an updated Ventilation and Indoor Air Quality resource for Schools and Childcare Facilities (vch.ca/en/document-...) but their CO2 page needs some edits.

Vancouver Coastal Health "CO2 concentrations do not indicate a risk of infectious disease transmission in a space". No. ASHRAE's position document on indoor CO2 says "higher CO2 conc correspond to lower ventilation and potentially increased risk of airborne transmission"

Vancouver Coastal Health "Note that health effects from CO2 occur at levels above 5000 ppm". Did WorkSafeBC interfere? Because that's contradicted by your Health Canada reference in the sentence immediately before it.

I think the errors may be due to mixing up pure CO2 as an industrial contaminant, versus CO2 from breath.

Imho the errors were due to malfeasance

It's actually unbelievable they've included that. Many people use CO2 monitors to do their own risk assessments for covid, that thing we were all told to do when they removed universal protections.

And it's logically inconsistent with their other two statements: 1) poor ventilation increases risk of transmission. 2) CO2 is an indicator of poor ventilation. Therefore CO2 is NOT an indicator of increased risk? WTF?

There's been confusing messaging from public health & all levels of government about covid since they decided they don't want to pay for prevention anymore as well as treatment & by confusing I mean deliberately misleading people.
