Yeah the fact his most recent appearance seems worse than what he was doing 3+ years ago is seen as evidence of decline. The elderly don’t generally improve with age and Biden doesn’t appear to be breaking the mold
Trump's only 3 years younger than Biden and as the OP points out, nobody bothers to mention this. They only attack Biden about it.

Trump has been spouting gibberish for years, it’s not indicative of decline. He’s not visibly deteriorating the way Biden is. And why would Trump step aside when he’s leading in the polls?
