Such a great part of the world. The Gallarus Oratory rocks. We visited it on a foggy day in 2011 which only made it more mysterious.

It’s unreal how many prehistoric monuments litter the landscape! But yes, a lovely part of the world!

I've never been to the Dingle but it is on my list. I'm dragging my oh so enthusiastic daughter around the Burren in a couple of weeks she's going to be thrilled by the ring first and downers etc.

Dolmens not bloody downers

😅 Brilliant. I’d say dolmens were total downers for the lads lugging the stones into place.

Dingle peninsula is amazing. But overall the whole county is littered with ancient ruins. Magic.

My dissertation was about the literature of the Blaskets. The land hunger must have been fierce. I've always been fascinated by the whole western seaboard. I'm not romantic about the two room cabins people were forced into on rocky hillsides though.

Needs Fungie to really sell it though.

Yes! Fungie passed away I believe…he was there for decades though, and there is a bronze statue of him in the centre of the town
