I like the Publishing Rodeo podcast a lot for behind the scenes stuff (though sometimes looking behind the curtain is depressing) #KidLitChat

Must check it out. Though I may have to have a shot of caffeine to get my courage up. #kidlitchat

I also find talking to experienced indie booksellers is often a GREAT way to find out what's happening in bookselling & publishing, how books are sold. Speaking of which, I highly recommend THE ART OF LIBROMANCY by @joshthelibromancer.bsky.social #kidlitchat

To keep on top of publishing industry changes, I rely on SCBWI conferences, local monthly meetings and nat’l monthly newsletters. I use social media like BlueSky and the 12x12 Facebook group. I also sometimes read the Publishers Weekly newsletters. #kidlitchat

#kidlitchat I have an agent for kidlit, but the past few years I have worked with alot of reputable indie publishers illustrating for indie authors. It has come a long way in a few years.

I read the Publisher's Weekly Children's Bookshelf newsletter that gets delivered to my email. They have great articles on what's going on in publishing as well as deal announcements. #kidlitchat

I like PW for seeing what’s being acquired and by who, but also staying on top of the new shelf at the library to see what they are filling their stacks with.
