#KidLitChat I keep thinking of this, so I'm going to share this resource, too. Writing Irresistible Picture Books by Mary Kole had such good information about how picture books have changed over the past couple years. It blew my mind. And then made so much sense.

deck.blue is better than Tweetdeck ever was, IMHO, because it's made for BLUESKY. 😁 I use it for lots of things (like monitoring #kidlitchat right now), but especially for embedding links.

#KidLitChat If you like learning while doing other things, like driving to the grocery store, or folding laundry, I highly reccommend the Publishing Rodeo podcast. Fascinating interviews. I've found it really helpful in learning more about portions of publishing I didn't understand.

TOPIC: The publishing industry changes daily, it seems. What are the most reliable sources for information on the currents and eddies that can affect how you navigate your creative career--publications? professional panels? best-seller lists? #kidlitchat

Finding that as I write these poem prompts, it's prompting me to draft even more poetry beyond the prompts. Really productive poetically the past few days. And that makes my heart so happy.

#KidLitChat This is a tough question. I depend a lot on my agent. Because I assume she has a better knowledge of the market than me. I also read Publisher's Weekly, chat with other authors agented/published, and have done SCBWI/Highlights workshops with editors to know more.

Here is mine: Sand Castle The tide creeps up slowly, then all at once its lapping at the walls, grit dissolving in salty waves. You pull your pail to you, grab for the shiniest shells on the topmost towers before it falls. You are left there clutching pail shells of what once was. #Poem #Prompt
