Uh, only spinning Christmas trees made of SHINY ALUMINUM that you couldn't hang the old-style lights on (🚒🧯) so they made a bright light that changed colors by rotating a colored disk (& also burned you if you touched it).
I want one so bad.
My childhood friend’s family had one of those. I was so jealous. We just had the firetrap dry-ass real tree with hot to the touch lights and tinsel that we found all over the house until Easter.
So jealous!
I collect 1950s xmas decor AND we keep a real tree so I have a *totally normal* light set up of LED lights that can stay on 24/7 & lights that must be turned off with a push button kill switch if you leave the room or you risk losing your home.
Our lights had “reflectors” ostensibly to reflect light but they were also an attempt to reduce the fire risk. Their cord was so frayed and I swear they caused a blown fuse or three.
And those were undoubtably on ungrounded strings of lights! What a fun time.
I have a string of very rare pink garland that is gorgeous but if it touches anything ungrounded, you get sparks! Very festive lol
