I'm not sure I approve of our show being used for any beneficial purpose, but here you are anyway.
1 really effective student exercise was playing "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" ( @petersagal.bsky.social )'s "Bluff the Listener" & not just asking them to guess but to explain their reasoning. I remember 1 student saying that she knew Detroit geography & thus a story re 8 Mile Rd just didn't make sense.

As someone who does research related to disinformation adoption, I think this is a great idea. It’s consistent with some of @mikecaulfield.bsky.social ideas on teaching people to consider other information when evaluating potential false information. And it makes the process a fun activity.

You’d be surprised how often I say “I heard on WWDTM. . . “ being entertained makes learning stick. I bet there’s a study on that. . .
