None of us wanted this shit, but Google execs are a bunch of credulous toddlers enraptured by the latest shiny toy, so here we are, being told to rub castor oil in our cat's eyes
Google's AI recommends rubbing castor oil in your cat's eyes to treat cataracts and glaucoma.
I doubt that feeding castor oil to your cat will help with digestion and nutrient absorption. Castor oil causes explosive diarrhea.
This is why I switched to DuckDuckGo. It's not great (or even all that good), but the real results are as good as Google, and all the fake-AI bullshit is completely disable-able.
Asked google a health-related question last night and caught myself reading the AI answer instead of scrolling down to a valid medical source. It's like a muscle you have to strengthen.
From the very good Cleveland Clinic, trying to debunk some castor oil claims regarding human health benefits (essentially, none)

Could be a bit of both. I do think these people are true believers in this myth of One Tool To Rule Them All, and of course they're the only ones visionary enough to bring it to the masses. And if they boost their bottom line in the process, well, that's the just desserts for being so smart
